Jim Carrey returns in an outrageous political comedy, Orange You Honest? — a hilarious and unfiltered sequel to Carrey’s 1997 smash hit, Liar Liar.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Universal Pictures proudly announces the return of comedy icon Jim Carrey in Orange You Honest?, a bold, satirical sequel to the 1997 box-office hit Liar Liar. Directed by acclaimed comedy filmmaker Adam McKay (Vice, The Big Short), the film features an all-star ensemble including Charlize Theron, Kate McKinnon, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, John Malkovich, and breakout star Brooklynn Prince. Orange You Honest? debuts exclusively in theaters nationwide on November 14, 2025.
In this timely political farce, President Donald J. Trump (Carrey) is rendered completely incapable of lying after his granddaughter Savannah (Prince) makes an innocent birthday wish: that grandfather Trump not lie for one day. What follows is 24 hours of unspeakable truth bombs, viral chaos, courtroom mayhem, and unexpected emotional reckoning. Can honesty actually save America or destroy it faster?
Directed by Academy Award winner Adam McKay, Orange You Honest? is written by Seth Reiss (The Menu) and Emmy-nominated writing duo Gloria Sanchez and Chris Kelly. The film is produced by Judd Apatow, Will Ferrell, and Kevin Messick. Composer Nicholas Britell and cinematographer Linus Sandgren bring their signature brilliance to the film’s audiovisual punch.
Shot on location at iconic sites in Palm Beach, Washington D.C., and New York City, the production was helmed under Universal Pictures in partnership with Gloria Sanchez Productions. The film features advanced Dolby Vision, IMAX, and theatrical-exclusive experiences.
The cast includes standout comedic turns by Kate McKinnon as a fainting press secretary, Sarah Paulson as a panicked campaign manager, and John Malkovich as a bewildered rival candidate. Charlize Theron plays Melania Trump in a performance both biting and surprisingly heartfelt.
“Jim Carrey paved the way for this kind of high-concept satire,” says director McKay. “We just cranked the absurdity to eleven.”
“Trump can’t lie for 24 hours. That’s the premise,” adds producer Judd Apatow. “It’s the scariest and funniest thing we could imagine.”

Orange You Honest? opens exclusively in theaters November 14, 2025. Dolby and IMAX early access previews begin November 13.
